The obligatory band saw box

Band saw boxes seem to be one of those things you just have to make at least once in your woodworking career or you are not a real woodworker. Since I happen to have a band saw and a mother with regularly re-occurring birthdays, I figured I’ll combine the two and make a band saw box for her.

The box is made from maple leftovers from an earlier project with Indian rosewood handles for the drawers. I didn’t have a thin enough blade available so the gaps between drawers and body could have been smaller but I added thin “runners” for the drawers so they center inside the cutout.

This project was done in May 2013.
